PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Second Harvest Food Bank is proud to operate in the great city of Irvine.

As a large regional food bank, we provide food for all who need it with a concentrated focus on our most vulnerable populations—children, working families, college students and seniors.

We purchase nutritious food and shelf-stable items—and grow a portion of our own produce—for distribution through our Partner Network, which provides food at more than 250 locations throughout Orange County. This vital network includes houses of worship, school and college pantries, afterschool programs, Permanent School Pantries, senior centers, transitional housing facilities, soup kitchens and shelters for the unhoused.

Come and give back to your community!

Volunteers will help us in our mission to provide dignified, equitable, and consistent access to nutritious food for ALL in Orange County.

Volunteers will help by planting, harvesting, weeding, and maintaining the farm fields of Harvest Solutions Farm, a 45-acre farm located down the road from the Second Harvest Food Bank Distribution Center.

The produce grown and harvested by volunteers at Harvest Solutions Farm is ultimately distributed to those facing food insecurity in Orange County.

Harvest Solutions Farm is about to celebrate its 1-year anniversary, having produced more than 2 million pounds of distributed produce in our community!
