What is the greatest need in Irvine?
Love Irvine partners with nonprofit and for-profit service providers, the faith community, schools, and government agencies to answer the question, “What is the greatest [social] need in our city? Once identified, we then bring together these communities (civic, non-profits, churches, businesses, individuals, etc.) to collaborate and create solutions that will move us towards fulfilling ‘the greatest need’.
Love Irvine also selects and promotes a limited number of ongoing volunteer opportunities where anyone in the city can volunteer and make a difference in our community.
In early 2021, community leaders from Trellis (Costa Mesa) met with community leaders in Irvine to cast a vision of a more collaborative city ecosystem that focuses on developing solutions for community-felt issues that are impacting the city.
A catalytic City Wide Serve Day event emerged, which successfully built momentum and created enthusiasm for more! People of all ages asked, “When can we do this again?” We [Love Irvine] knew we were onto something, seeing how people wanted to belong to something bigger.
Our desire from the outset was to dream big and imagine what we could do if civic, churches, businesses, education, and everyone who calls Irvine ‘home’, all worked together to ‘Seek the peace and prosperity of our city’ (Jer. 29:7) so that everyone thrives.
