This hug booth is a warm invitation for our community to connect in the most simple, fundamental way - through safe, well-intentioned physical contact. Volunteers will be invited to participate in whatever way they feel called to and comfortable with. Everything from compliments to high fives to bear hugs to group hugs is welcome. Fun, creativity, and playfulness are encouraged. Come join us!

2/11 Marines Battalion: Welcome Home Gift Packages Packing, 9AM-11:45AM

Support our troops! The 2/11 Battalion of Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton are coming home. We want to welcome them properly. 

Volunteer opportunities include: 

  • Packing welcome home gift bags with toiletries and non-perishable food items that have been donated by Crean students, the Shields Cattau Financial Group of Thrivent, and Thrivent members.
  • Making tie-knot fleece blankets 
  • Write cards of encouragement and thanks to returning Marines to include in the gift bags

Our goal is make 100 welcome home gift packages that will include a hand-tied blanket for each!

Saddleback Grocery Distribution: Serve Families With Groceries + Household Needs (8AM-11:30AM)

We are looking to serve 250 families with groceries and household items. Drive-through style pop up.

Security Traffic Welcome (sign ups). Loading. Praying.

Greeter/Check In (8 Needed)

8:30am — 11:00am

Greet families as they arrive in their cars. Give each family a check-in form to complete. Once it's completed make sure the information is filled-in and place on their car windows. Please make sure to wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes.

Volunteer Check-In (3 Needed)

8:00am — 9:00am

Help volunteers get signed-in, get safety vest, name badge and let them know where to go.

Pray With Families (20 Needed)

9:00am — 11:30am

Heart for evangelism, prayer, and conversation. This will be the first and the most important! We have seen God softening the hearts of so many to Jesus. We will have a lead volunteer that will help you, until you are comfortable on your own.

Please make sure you wear closed toes shoes and comfortable clothing.

Load Food In Cars (20 Needed)

8:30am — 11:30am

Organize the distribution area and help load groceries or other food items into cars. Please make sure to wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing.

Clean Up Crew (15 Needed)

10:00am — 12:00pm

Help break down grocery boxes and load any extra food items or pallets back into the trucks or food pantry room.  Take down lights or any tables and chairs. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes.
